24 Hour Challenge

Moonlight's 24 Hour Fitness Challenge starts this Friday, March 2nd and will end later in April.

Like last year, Mr. Amos will be running for 24 hours straight on April 19th to April 20th, 9am to 9am. The students will be given fitness logs going home this Friday. Staff will be given fitness logs as well in order for staff to participate in the challenge with our students.

Why: Increase student and parent awareness of how important regular physical activity is in our students’ lives now and in the future. We are also setting a positive example for our students by sharing with them how we add exercise in our lives as adults.

Students: Students would be given a 48-day activity log on March 2nd that will be turned in on April 19th. The challenge is for each student to participate in 24 hours of physical activity in those 48 days (average 30 minutes a day). Staff members who would like a fitness log to fill out can pick one up in the gym the week of Feb. 27th. I would like to have many of the staff fitness logs posted in the gym for our students to read.

Specials on April 19th: No matter what specials class the students have on the 19th, they will be on the playground walking/running and participating in the fitness activities around the loop during their specials time.
