Dr. Seuss Cafe

It's that time of year again! Our 3rd and 4th graders are the waiters/waitresses in our school's Dr. Seuss Cafe.  During their Library time, students from the younger grades (PreK-2) come in and have a Dr. Seuss book read to them. They love it so much and enjoy their time showing off their fluency and reading skills to the younger students. We have picture menus for the little ones to choose from and centerpieces for the tables as decorations.

And, of course, they love that they get a COOKIE! Thank you to our local Price Chopper for donating the cookies!

Welcome to the Dr. Seuss Cafe

To celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday at Moonlight, we hold a Dr. Seuss Cafe! Kindergarten, first, and second grade students are invited to visit the library during third and fourth grade library specials time.

Once they enter the Dr. Seuss Cafe, they are given a menu to choose a Seuss book from and a third/fourth grader will read to them. Readers and listeners enjoy a cookie as the book is being read. If there is time, a second book can be read!

Find the menus here!

Students also voted on their favorite book read at the Dr. Seuss Cafe.

And, of course, there were cookies!!

Thing 1, Thing 2 in Third Grade

We got messy today in Art! Hands were painted and pressed, then Thing 1 and Thing 2 showed up!

Next, we will think about what might happen if Thing 1 and Thing 2 came to our homes!

Tim Tebow Reads "Green Eggs & Ham"

Today, we had the pleasure of listening to NFL Broncos Player Tim Tebow read Green Eggs & Ham.

The kiddos really enjoyed listening to the book and it helped kick off our Dr. Seuss obSEUSSion until the first week of March. After listening to Tim Tebow read, we discussed things we do and do not like too eat. Everyone shared their opinions on food choices.
