After we got a handle on fractions earlier in the week, we wanted to have more fraction fun!
On Tuesday, we made fraction kites. Each student decorated a 5 by 5 square in whatever solid colors they wanted. The only rules were they had to use at least two colors and at max, they could use five colors.
After the students decorate their squares, they labeled the explosion cloud with the fractions represented on their kite. Then, the students cut out their squares and turn them into kites. Students create a background for their kite. The students got pretty creative!
